Anomalous diffusion in umbrella comb

چکیده

Anomalous transport in a circular comb is considered. The motion takes place for fixed radius, while radii are continuously distributed along the circle. Two scenarios of anomalous transport, related to reflecting and periodic angular boundary conditions, studied. first scenario with reflection conditions diffusion corresponds conformal mapping 2D Fokker-Planck equation on comb. This topologically constraint named umbrella model. In this case, imposed (rotator) motion, radial geometric Brownian vanishing zero infinity. described by log-normal distribution, which exponentially fast mean squared displacement (MSD) order $e^t$. second outward at case normal diffusion. both superposition cosine functions that results stationary Bernoulli polynomials probability distributions.

From normal to anomalous diffusion in comb-like structures in three dimensions.

Diffusion in a comb-like structure, formed by a main cylindrical tube with identical periodic dead ends of cylindrical shape, occurs slower than that in the same system without dead ends. The reason is that the particle, entering a dead end, interrupts its propagation along the tube axis. The slowdown becomes stronger and stronger as the dead end length increases, since the particle spends more...

Anomalous diffusion in fractal globules.

The fractal globule state is a popular model for describing chromatin packing in eukaryotic nuclei. Here we provide a scaling theory and dissipative particle dynamics computer simulation for the thermal motion of monomers in the fractal globule state. Simulations starting from different entanglement-free initial states show good convergence which provides evidence supporting the existence of a ...

Anomalous diffusion in silo drainage.

The silo discharge process is studied by molecular dynamics simulations. The development of the velocity profile and the probability density function for the displacements in the horizontal and vertical axis are obtained. The PDFs obtained at the beginning of the discharge reveal non-Gaussian statistics and superdiffusive behaviors. When the stationary flow is developed, the PDFs at shorter tem...

Anomalous diffusion in aperiodic environments

We study the Brownian motion of a classical particle in one-dimensional inhomogeneous environments where the transition probabilities follow quasiperiodic or aperiodic distributions. Exploiting an exact correspondence with the transverse-field Ising model with inhomogeneous couplings, we obtain many analytical results for the random walk problem. In the absence of global bias the qualitative be...
